Possibly Pregnant?
Are you trying to figure out if you are pregnant, and looking for support? Perhaps you have taken one or more home pregnancy tests and aren’t certain how accurate they are. Maybe you have pregnancy symptoms but are too scared to take a test. You have one big question:
what now?
First of all: take a deep breath. You don’t have to do this alone. We can help.
Find out what services we offer related to pregnancy, and how we can support you.
What services do you offer related to pregnancy?
We offer:
An Initial Assessment in which you will meet your Care Coach. This appointment can include pregnancy testing and a nurse consultation alongside your Care Coach.
Care Coach Support to walk beside you as you process the information. This care can continue regardless of the outcome of your pregnancy test.
Prenatal Education to prepare you for birth and parenting when applicable.
We can also offer you Materials Support, which is physical (material) assistance for those who need items like diapers or baby clothes.

What kind of tests do you use, and are they accurate?
We use medical-grade urine tests, which are 99% accurate.
I took a home pregnancy test and it was positive. Are they accurate? Do I need a medical test?
Home pregnancy tests are similar to the urine tests used at the LPC. They are considered very accurate. To know what else you may need, we would need to have an assessment in which we get your information and medical history. If you need medical care aside from pregnancy testing or confirmation, you will be referred outside of the LPC.
Can I get an ultrasound exam?
Ultrasound exams are one part of the services we provide for women who are wondering if they might be pregnant. The first step begins with the first office visit, where you will meet with a coach and a nurse. The nurse will ask about your medical history and current medical information, and determine if an ultrasound exam can be offered to you based on Medical Director protocol.
What is a limited obstetrical exam?
The LPC offers limited obstetrical ultrasound exams as part of our services. This is the only way to confirm a viable pregnancy. The limited obstetrical ultrasound exam collects three pieces of information:
Detection of a fetus located in the uterus;
Detection of a fetal heartbeat;
Gestational age based on fetal measurements.
Ultrasound exams are scheduled by a member of The LPC medical team. During your first office visit, a clinical pregnancy test is conducted and a nurse provides a general medical consultation. The nurse will determine if an ultrasound exam can be offered based on Medical Director protocol. Ultrasound exams are scheduled at the discretion of The LPC medical team.
Will my information be kept confidential?
All client information is kept confidential within this organization, except for things we are legaly obligated to report.
The LPC does not release personal and private health information to outside individuals or third parties unless:
1. we have written consent,
2. we are under a court order or subpoena,
3. we are mandated by law to report, or
4. a client is a threat and/or danger to self or others.
The law requires us to report things like homicide, suicide, child abuse, and child neglect.
What does all of this cost?
Due to generous donations from the LPC’s network of trusted partners, all services can be offered free of cost.
Will you refer me for an abortion if I want one?
No. The LPC does not refer for or recommend abortions or other medical procedures. We are here for your emotional support: to walk alongside you as you navigate your reproductive journey. We can provide medically accurate and unbiased information on abortion, but we will not attempt to influence or coerce your decision. Regardless of the outcome of this pregnancy, the LPC’s Care Coaches would be honored to support you for up to 18 months if desired.
I'm scared that you will judge or condemn the choices I've made.
It is not our place to judge or condemn. You will not be chastised, condemned, or admonished. You will not be manipulated toward any decision or outcome. We have no hidden agenda, we are not political, and there are no strings attached to your care. Our ministry “agenda” is to be present with you when you need support.
Can I bring someone with me?
If you feel more comfortable bringing a trusted friend or family member to your initial assessment, you can do so. You will be assigned a Care Coach in this appointment who will support you for as long as you need. These appointments are for you. If you are seeking counseling services for yourself and another person, you can request a Care Coach be assigned to both of you. This would be separate from your personal Care Coach or in place of individual Care Coach sessions. Just know that if you want to be alone with your Coach, you have the right to do so.
Can I receive support if I am underage?
The LPC can see clients of any age. We are not legally required to report things like absences from school or the reasons for your visit to your school, parents, or legal guardians. We are required by law to report things like homicide, suicide, abuse, or child neglect to the police.
The LPC does not release personal and private health information to outside individuals or third parties unless – 1. we have written consent, 2. we are under a court order or subpoena, 3. we are mandated by law to report, or 4. a client is a threat and/or danger to self or others.
What if I don't speak English?
At this time, we can only offer limited services to clients who do not speak English. We can offer material support or refer you to a facility that speaks your language to the best of our ability, but we cannot conduct pregnancy support or counseling services in languages other than English at this time.
