Ultrasounds at the LPC

Are you considering an ultrasound and curious how it works?

For starters, we will never force or attempt to coerce you into having an ultrasound as a means of influencing the outcome of your pregnancy. You may request an ultrasound, or we may offer one if you are eligible* based on Medical Director protocol, but the decision is yours.

We offer limited obstetrical ultrasound exams. Ultrasound exams are not medically appropriate at the center for all situations. At your initial pregnancy confirmation appointment, our staff nurse will determine whether or not an ultrasound is necessary or available for you based on Medical Director protocol.

Our ultrasounds are a part of the pregnancy confirmation and viability determination that we provide as a service to help you take control of your health, and are provided to assist you in processing the change that a potential pregnancy can cause in your life. We provide them to help you move to the next step in your reproductive journey, and help us determine what type of care you may need from us.

What comes after an ultrasound?

We will offer any of our applicable services to you depending on your need. You can have Care Coach support you in your pregnancy or counsel you through a non-pregnancy outcome, attend childbirth education classes, group meetings, support groups, and much more. *The Medical Director has set the parameters for which clients are eligible for an ultrasound exam here at the LPC, and the parameters will be followed, without exception, by our nurses.
